I get frequent disconnection problems and the customer service is non-existent. Speeds are also slow as I get just 2 Mbps on most occasions.

Service is neither good nor bad and as for a beginner, it is a great package. So far I had not problems with connection though speeds slow down during peak hours.

Signed up with 8MB package, I get just 1MB and when I asked the customer support about it, they could not give convincing answers. Another problem is that connection is unreliable and you don't know when you will get disconnected. Their phone service is good but their broadband is worse like hell.

Have been with Toucan for the last twelve months and nothing to complain over their services. Their call plans are cheaper with the lowest line rental. When some Toucan customers complain over slow speeds, I would suggest them to contact Toucan customer support instead of complaining in forums. Customer support is quite excellent and do everything to fix up the problem whenever it crops up.

I got toucan 2MB in feb 2006. Set up was a week earlier than expected .I had not problem what so ever until October 2007.I had to ring technical support about an error, to keep it short the Indian lady could not tell me the problem after 30 minutes of trying , but i found out the problem myself the next day from a friend. I did complain because my bill was almost £10 so i rang customer service to complain. they said they will see what they can do . In the meantime i decide to upgrade to 8MB service that got connected in a week then 2 days later i get a call to ask if i wanted the full phone/broadband package with free line rentaland unlimited call anytime , which in total gave a saving of £11 in my monthy phone outgoings. Now for me thats a service!!

Go live date was 10/7/07 but they forgot to tell me until I was cut off by my previous provider. Promised me a modem within five days but it did not arrive. Since then they say that seven modems have been sent and I am still waiting. Customer service is very good at saying 'sorry, have a nice day' but useless at anything else. If you want a broadband connection don't go to Toucan. I was with Orange - wish I had stayed. Give Toucan a miss.

WAS SUPPOSED TO GO LIVE ON THE 17TH APRIL 07.DESPITE CALLS TO LITTLE INDIA, GOT NOWHERE FAST.THEY SAID I WAS MY WIRING, THEN MY MODEM, THEN FILTERS ETC ETC.......... IN THE END I TOOK TWO OF MY COMPUTERS AROUND TO MY MATES, WHO IS BROADBAND ENABLED. THEY WORKED PERFECTLY!! CHECKED ON MY LINE, IT WASNT ENABLED. IT WAS LIKE DEALING WITH A BUNCH OF MORONS! YOU HAVE THE RIGHT WITHIN THIRTEEN DAYS TO CANCEL, ON THE 20TH I RANG TO CANCEL. I HAVE SINCE ASKED TO CANCEL EIGHT TIMES. THEY SAY I CANT CANCEL, THE CONTRACTS FOR A YEAR. IT IS THEMSELVES WHO ARE IN BREACH OF CONTRACT, CONTRAVENING, BOTH THE SALE OF GOODS ACT 1979 AND THE SUPPLY OF GOODS AND SERVICES ACT 1982. I HAVE COLLECTED QUITE A DOSSIER ON THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT "TRASHCAN" AND HAVE TOLD THEM TO EXPECT MY SOLICITORS LETTER. MY INTERNET CONNECTION WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER WITH TWO EMPTY BEAN CANS AND A LENGTH OF STRING. TOUCAN ARE TO BROADBAND WHAT JULIE ANDREWS IS TO DEEP THROAT!! STAY WELL CLEAR. I GAVE THEM ONE STAR AS NO LOWER SCORE WAS AVAILABLE

At least Dick Turpin wore a mask I am now warning you to stay away from this ISP. The only thing good here is their ability to waffle on the phone, poor connection speeds, limited unlimited download usage!!! (no actual guidelines stay below 4g it becomes 3g stay below that it becomes 2g etc etc). At time of writing I cancelled 6 months ago and they are STILL TRYING TO BILL ME, and I payed to get out of the contract...aaaarrgh. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Dont know what has happened to Toucan since Pipex took it over but service has deteriorated terribly recently. I am on the 8mb package, used to get speed up to 2.6 on my line 9 (the max) which has now fallen to around 1.3 thats when I can connect. Evenings can sometimes spend ages trying to get connection and giving up. Would not advise joining till you see what happend with pipex.

Free weekend calls, mobile contract with handsets are attractive offers with Toucan. I have been getting their services for the past two years. But their connections are slow. They are able to give major savings on landline calls because of their combination packages. If they could improve their speed it will be quite useful.

Avoid toucan at all costs. All that I have experienced with toucan is ,confusion ,apathy and despair. They offer an unlimited broadband which works only during the off-peak hours and incase you exceed 1gb, then you will have to join the other "heavy users" and as a result, the speed is simply throttled. In case of any problem, when you contact the customer service, they can't simply do anything. And to the worst part something terribly has gone wrong with the service and I have no service for the past 2 months. The most frustrating thing is that I am paying for a service that is not provided, and I am unable to get out of the contract. Stay well away from toucan.

I can see nothing good in toucan except for the free modem they provide us with and their cheap rates. They impose speed restrictions on the unlimited broadband. The speed is very low and the cost of the phone calls made goes unlimited which they said will be compensated and then denied. And the best shot was at the beginning, I was well trained by a trainer of theirs who was not well trained. And the worst part was I received a welcome pack which had the wrong login ID which when informed to the customer services, they were simply helpless.

I think toucan is one among the best isp's of UK. It has a fast internet, low cost, and is uncapped. Their service also is great. They provide us with quality free modem unlike the other isps who provide us with cheap modems. It is the speed touch USB modem that they provide along with a couple of micro filters. And as an icing in the cake, they do not impose any connection charges. Their unlimited broadband and free off-peak calls at under £20 a month is simply not possible with any other broadband service. To start with I didn’ t get the speed I requested for but after reporting it to their technicians they solved it immediately and now I have no probs. One satisfied customer here.

I ended up choosing Toucan for its low cost and exclusive telephone packages with a free modem, web space and free mail addresses. I was able to receive my connection within 10 days time. Installation process was very easy and I was able to go online within minutes. You can utilise their wide choices of deals including free international calls, off peak calls and different telephone packages. Whatever deal you opt for, their pricing is simple without any hidden costs. Their customer service is excellent and I would recommend Toucan for anyone.

Good: Affordable Price. Excellent technical help. Bad points: Poor modem use. Comments: many times you cannot connect because it can not verify your account, surprisingly at these times you can connect using their 'Pay-as-you-Surf' connection. My renewal is due 30.11.07 and I found this review site whilst looking for another ISP!

I have never dealt with such uncouth and rude customer service representatives before! When I tried calling them to lodge a complaint, they simply hang up the phone, and again when I call them and ask them the reason of hanging up the phone, they say it is some system fault! Also my complaint took full 2 weeks to be resolved. Wonder what the complaint was? Internet not being able to get connected! What other service would we expect from a broadband service provider, than this primary need??!! Truly, am continuing their service because I got into this contract agreement with them for 12 months! I still curse myself for having done such a stupid thing!

Pros: Toucan connection gives value for money….or atleast that's what I had thought! Cons: But I was incorrect! Not only were the call charges high, finally when I thought I must disconnect their connection, I was sent a cancellation charge of £38!! I have taken a vow that NEVER ever again will I go for or recommend Toucan!
